Description
For me this Painting is a visual reminder of new beginnings.
When our hearts suffer, we instinctively protect them. How we do this depends from person to person. Some of us close it, some of us deny it, some of us wish it away.
We dont want to feel the most powerful force in the universe within our hearts.
We become hearts of stone, harder than steel, colder than a vast land of ice
Because listening to our hearts reminds us that we are alive, that there is blood under our skins, that its passions scare us, we fear that its desires may consume us and its tenderness may makes us vulnerable.
So we close our hearts in order to heal, to find ourselves a safe place. We cant be hurt, we wont be disappointed, the feeling of vulnerability seems to go away.
At least for a while...
Soon enough our closed hearts, feel constrained and start to suffocate. As if they were covered in tons of Stone, as if they were made of stone.
Eventually our hearts beg us to be free again, to be unbound, to have the opportunity to live, to dream and search once again for joy, even if that means the chance of suffering again.
A heart of stone if kept too long is a dead heart. Its cold and sad. Lifeless.
We must learn how to take care of our hearts, how to listen and nurture their wishes.
We must learn to be proud of our hearts scars, to look at them and say, these are my hearts scars, they are a sign that I have had the courage to Love, the courage to truly live. The courage to Dream
A spotless heart, is not a heart of a warrior.
When we seek for what we love, when we open our hearts to others, and to our dreams, there is always a risk that they will be thorn apart.
But that is the risk we must take when looking for our ideal partner, friends or work.
The risk of truly living a full life.
We must let go of past hurts and fears. We Must get rid of people and things that do not resonate with our hearts.
We should rather spend energy on the search and belief in the inevitable fact that if we keep our hearts open, good things and good people will come into our lives once again.
To break the self created stone that suffocate our hearts, is to give them the chance to beat like a loud drum again, to beat a song of hope, a song of renewal. A song of Courage.
Its the noble art of starting again. Full Force!

You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, 'I lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.'
Eleanor Roosevelt
And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. Ezekiel 36:26
The greatest test of courage on earth is to bear defeat without losing heart.
Robert Green Ingersoll
All I can tell you really is if you get to the point where someone is telling you that you are not great or not good enough, just follow your heart and don't let anybody crush your dream.
Patti LaBelle
